A controversial painting depicting President Jacob Zuma with his genitals exposed has been defaced. Two men were arrested for defacing the painting named `The Spear’.
The painting was disrespectful but also reflects the beliefs of the president. The gallery and the painter enjoyed every minute of the publicity they received this week. When I posted this early this morning I was running late for work and could not write a full post, I also wanted to see what my followers thought of it without me stating the obvious.
The whole thing seems a bit fishy to me. Why were there no guards right near the painting? It was obvious that something would happen to it, given the controversy it caused.
I hope the painting was a replica and that the original is with the buyer.
What do you feel about it? What do you feel about the painting? Sould everything be allowed in the Museum?

Well, they all got lots of publicity out of this one.
Agreed, how many times did we hear the name of the Gallery and the name of the painter in the last week.

The painter got a lot of publicity. (It is very strange that they were “allowed” to destroy the painting!)
Very odd indeed.
Guess I missed this one on Headline News! Very interesting…odd, yes! But interesting. Debra
