There are rumours going round that the Metal workers which have been striking will go back to work Monday.
The Chemical workers have started their strike causing Engen garages to run out of petrol Wednesday evening while some of us were still able to get petrol at Caltex and Total garages yesterday morning.
The South African Municipal Workers’ Union (Samwu) also indicated its intent to go on strike next week. This means that there will probably be no garbage collection for the next two weeks which is a very depressing thought.
Many residents are battling the cold weather because the national liquefied petroleum gas shortage began last Wednesday and is expected to carry on at least until the end of the month.
