The White Karee trees are often seen growing on pavements or in parking lots in South Africa. They are great trees to plant if you are looking for trees which supply shade but do not grow very tall. Birds love to eat the small fruits and hop around in the sturdy spacious branches.
The photos above are of a White Karee tree in our garden. The fruits develope in winter and have a tinge of pink under the warm Winter sun but in Spring they look like pale green peas. In early Summer the outer skin of the fruits start to dry out and release the seeds. More info here.
