THE truck drivers’ strike, which cost the road freight industry R1.2 billion daily and caused employees to lose R271 million in wages, was officially called off yesterday.”

A wage deal has finally been agreed upon which has brought the truck drivers’ strike to an end.

This is happy news for all of us. Supermarkets were running short of stock and the company where I work had to pay “bonuses” to the drivers to pursuade them to make deliveries.
Hopefully everyone will go back to work now and peace will be restored.
